1. 大學考試入學分發放榜。今年大考分發共錄取6萬6683人,錄取率90.44%,創近五年最低紀錄,未足額錄取校系比往年大幅下降,有13校41系,總計313個缺額;各校系錄取分數也普遍提高,可能和今年指考取消倒扣,分數整體提升有關。
The 2011 university entrance exam result is revealed. This year, there are 66,683 test-takers obtaining their chances to study in the local colleges and universities. The admission rate is 90.44%, the lowest in the last five years. There are still 313 vacancies for 41 majors at 13 schools; this statistics is also the lowest in the last five years. The least scores for the admission of these schools are also higher: it may have something to do with the cancellation of the deduction system in the examination paper so that the overall scores are higher.
2. 大學考試入學分發,國立臺灣大學錄取的考生當中,以台北市建國中學最多,其次是北一女中。建國中學輔導室表示,近年來,學生開始重視自己的興趣,老師和家長也尊重孩子的選擇,不再以分數做為分發依據,讓許多可以上醫學系的學生,選擇自己有興趣的校系就讀。
As the local universities will be recruiting their new students, among all the test-takers who can enter the local national colleges and universities, the majority are graduates from Taipei Municipal Jianguo Senior High School, followed by Taipei First Girls High School. According to the Guidance and Counseling Office at Taipei Municipal Jianguo Senior High School, currently, students have put their personal interests as the priority. On the other hand, parents and the teachers also value the students’ personal choices. They do not view the scores of the university entrance exam as the only way to make a choice of the department or the school they wish to study. Hence, many students would rather choose to study other majors than medicine in accordance with their personal interests.
3. 媒體報導,教育部研擬「兒童課後照顧中心設立及管理辦法草案」規定,課後照顧1週不得超過5天,每天不得超過晚間8點,衝擊雙薪家庭。教育部次長吳財順今天表示,教育部草擬的草案中,國民小學課後班限制天數和時數規定還未定案,教育部會廣納各界意見,並舉行公聽會,希望年底完成法制程序。
According to the local media, the Ministry of Education has issued a draft on the management of after-school classes. In the draft, it is made clear that weekly, the children cannot be placed at after-school classes for more than five days a week, and daily, the children cannot stay in those classes after 8:00 p.m. The new regulation will have a negative impact on the families with both the husband and wife working in the job market. Deputy Minister Wu from the Ministry of Education indicated today that the new draft is yet to be settled. The limitations regarding the days per week and time per day for children to stay in the after-school classes are still pending. The Ministry of Education hopes to listen to the opinions from all parties; furthermore, a public hearing will be held so that the legislative procedures can be completed before the end of 2011.

To make people’s eyes bigger and more beautiful, nowadays the youths like to wear contact lenses (that have the functions of making their eyes bigger.) However, the Dept. of Health, Taipei City Government has examined 7 sets of contact lenses that are without Chinese labels, nor the permit from the Dept. of Health, Executive Yuan, that proves such contact lenses are medical equipment. Currently examinations of this issue conducted by the prosecution and investigation related offices are on the way.
5. 德國音樂家說,唱歌可以幫助老人維持記憶力還可以讓老人保持聽力。一位德國的大學教授說,聲帶也會變老,年紀大的人肺活量也不足,所以,老年人唱歌很難唱出高音,想要保持悅耳的聲音就得不斷運動,而且經常唱歌老人的記性會比較好,聽力也能維持相當的水準。

When people get old, their vital capacity is also inadequate. Therefore, it is harder for the elderly to sing with a higher pitch. In order to maintain their enchanting voices, the elderly need to keep exercising, which is why those who often sign can memorize things more efficiently and their hearing ability will also be at a certain standard.
